About
The epitome of a starving artist…hell, what artist isn’t starving nowadays? The starving artist bit is a bit played out but I’m broke and I’m an artist…so if the shoe fits. I am a professional vagabond by trade. I’ve been drawing all my life. Mostly self taught from comic books. I dropped out of high school and basically spent my days hanging out with some friends at Justin Herman Plaza. Went to City College of San Francisco and spent three years taking various fine art classes from monoprinting to humorous illustration to oil painting and all the prerequisites in between. Hell, it was the early 90s…computer graphic classes were just getting started. Barely.
Anyways…I stopped everything to get a real job…wallowed like Uncle Rico for the next ten years. I started painting portraits sometime in the late 90s. I don’t remember when. Just bought some acrylics and canvases and had at it. It’s taken me a while to really get better. I don’t know if what I’m doing is good or not…it’s just stuff I want to paint. mostly hip-hop inspired pieces. Some are bad, some are good, whatever. I do alot of blue pieces too. not cuz i’m on Picasso’s jock.
Oh…also I self-produced two CDs with my main Scot The Wanderer. Learned some graphic design skills…well, I learned Photoshop and Illustrator at some janky place that I won’t even mention but at least i didn’t have to pay. And now it’s ‘09 and I’m still trying to hustle paintings and think of my next move in the process. Hell…any move would be great right now. Is that enough about me?

i found your works via flickr.com i loved your MF DOOM pieces. got me inspired as i draw sometimes (but it’s never going to be a full time thing cuz as AESOP ROCK said “…starving artist die…”) . anyway just read your about section – thanks for the honesty and weirdly enough i’m going through my own blue period 0 goddamn picasso
